Halloween Competitions for Scotland's Legal Sector
The Scottish legal sector has a competitive streak, and we’re the first to admit we have one too. Whether it’s a fantasy football league that gets a bit too heated or a hamper up for grabs at a conference, we love any excuse for a bit of friendly rivalry. Our competitions are always free to enter, and there are always fun prizes worth playing for.
This season, things have taken a spooky turn. We’ve got Halloween hampers up for grabs at two legal conferences in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and a mischievous little ghost making guest appearances in offices across the country.
Here’s what’s up for grabs at the moment
HLA Champions League Fantasy Football 2026/27
Our World Cup fantasy league brought out some very competitive sides of the Scottish legal sector. If you’re still not over someone’s last-minute transfer, you’re not alone. We couldn’t resist running it again, so our Champions League fantasy football league is officially open.
£100 million. 15 players. Zero room for sentimental picks.
Who gets the captain’s armband? Who’s a nailed-on starter? And which superstar are you brave (or daft) enough to bench?
Prizes
- Overall winner: a £500 Amazon voucher. That’s a lot of shopping for picking a few footballers.
- Top firm or company: 24 doughnuts for the office, plus bragging rights until the next tournament.
How to play
- Build your dream squad. Spend £100 million on 15 players from Europe’s biggest clubs, and spend it wisely.
- Pick your captain. They’ll either be your hero or the reason you’re fuming at full-time.
- Climb the leaderboard. Battle it out for individual glory and your firm’s place on the company table.

The nights are drawing in, the pumpkins are out and the HLA team is heading to Murrayfield for CLT Scots Law 2026, then straight on to Glasgow for Estate Research’s Scots Law Private Client Conference. To get into the Halloween spirit, we’re giving away a frightfully sweet hamper at each event, packed with Prosecco, red wine, handmade chocolates, chocolate popcorn pumpkins and plenty more treats.

Each event has its own draw, so there’s one hamper winner from CLT Scots Law 2026 (across both days) and one from the Scots Law Private Client Conference. We’ll draw the winners after each event and get in touch directly, so keep an eye on your inbox.
